Robertson Not Seeking Reelection

Robertson Not Seeking Reelection State Representative Eric Robertson announced today he will not seek reelection, and has endorsed Orting Mayor Josh Penner for the 31st District seat. Sumner, WA – State Representative Eric Robertson announced today he will not seek reelection.  Robertson said, “Thank you to the people of our communities, and my friends and colleagues, for eight years of serving my home town in Olympia. It truly is an honor and privilege to represent the 31st District in the State House, though it’s time for me to leave the legislature and spend more time attending my grandkids sporting events, helping my dad as he gets older, and traveling.”  Robertson will complete his term, which ends in January.   Robertson continued, “The choice to step aside is made easier knowing that Orting Mayor Josh Penner will run for this seat.  I endorse him, and urge the voters to elect him.  I believe he  will serve the district well, and bring a unique set of skills and perspectives to the legislature.” Robertson’s legislative career focused on improving our state and regional transportation system, a role that was built on his years of service as a Washington State Patrol trooper.  “I promised to work for better and safer roads and communities in my first campaign, and all these years later, I can say I kept that promise,” said Robertson.  “I have so many people to thank for the support over the years.  You know who you are. I’ve been trusted to serve in the House Republican leadership every year of my time in the House, including alongside my seatmate Rep. Drew Stokesbary.  We have the best caucus in the entire nation, and I am very proud of the work my friend Drew Stokesbary is doing as House Republican Leader.”   Leave a Reply Cancel reply Logged in as developer.
