Doing Less For More

The core duty of our state government is to manage taxpayer money with discipline and transparency. However, during the 2026 legislative session, the majority abandoned those principles. We watched the legislature pass a supplemental operating budget that dramatically increased spending while failing to deliver on the most basic state services.

We saw massive investments directed toward pet projects and bureaucratic expansion, while fundamental infrastructure and community safety programs remained critically underfunded.

"We're not doing more for less. This budget does less for more, and that scares me."

I challenged this approach directly on the House floor because it represents a profound failure of governance. We cannot continue to write blank checks for failing programs. The people of the 31st District expect their tax dollars to produce measurable results, not expanded bureaucracy.

The Unacceptable Cost to Taxpayers

Olympia continues to treat our constituents like an endless source of revenue. The majority passed new spending measures without ever ensuring that our existing programs actually worked. This lack of fiscal discipline hits working families and small businesses the hardest.

When the state expands spending without accountability, it drives up the cost of living for everyone. We watched agency budgets inflate year over year without any corresponding improvement in service delivery or public safety. The state refused to prioritize. Instead of making the hard choices necessary for sustainable governance, they chose to simply tax and spend.

This is not a sustainable path for Washington State. The working people who fund our government deserve a return on their investment. They deserve safe roads, functional schools, and a secure community, not an ever-expanding administrative state that fails to execute its core duties.

Demanding True Accountability

I voted against this reckless spending. I demanded that we return to a sustainable budgeting process. We must audit our state agencies, eliminate waste, and prioritize the fundamental duties of government before we ask the taxpayers for a single dime more.

We need adults in the room who respect the taxpayers who fund this state. We need leaders willing to say no to unchecked expansion. I am committed to fighting for a budget that respects your hard work and prioritizes the actual needs of our local communities over the ideological wishes of the political extremes.

We must stop the financial bleeding and implement strict oversight on every dollar spent in Olympia.

Stand with me to demand accountability. Together, we will bring fiscal sanity back to Washington State and ensure our government works for the people who pay for it.
